Ross: My Coach Got Me Back On Track

I had lost a lot of weight in the last few years, eating right and hitting the gym with a couple of my buddies. I was even able to stop my diabetes medication.

But after my mom passed, I had to sell their house and move my dad in with us. He has some cognitive impairment and it’s been tough on everyone.

My stress went through the roof after he came to live with us and just on a practical level, I don’t have nearly the time I used to.

I realized about six months in that the weight was coming back on and I hadn’t been to the gym even once. I saw my doctor and he said my blood sugar was coming back up too, so I knew I had to get get it together.

The coach I’ve been working with has been very helpful. Everything he suggests is realistic and practical.

I’ve been making it a point to get back to the gym with the guys and funny thing is, that’s helping with the stress too. I didn’t expect that, so it’s been great.

My wife and I have used some of the ideas I came up during my coaching sessions to make it easier to feed everybody, and that’s been helping too.

I’m back on track and feeling better and even more at peace, really, than I have since all this happened.
